25 year-old center fielder for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Andrew McCutchen, signed a 6-year, $51.5 million contract this spring.
Yesterday he showed why he’s so valuable, hitting the game winning walk-off single off of the wall into deep center field – the second in as many games against the Philadelphia Phillies.
After traveling with a group of players and coaches covering their Winter Caravan, I know no other guy on the team deserved a long-term deal more than Andrew. He always makes for great images throughout the year and showed some of that in the first series of the year.
